If we see a human being on this photo, we would probably express our thoughts with words like: unusual and strange; if we see an animal we also may use words asunusual and strange; if we see a pure artistic work we may use words like unusual, strange and creative.
What I am saying is: the use of words and expression depends on what a person is used to see! If people do not get the chance to interact with diversity, they will not understand diversity.
This is a picture of a quilt work I made many years ago from a material I found in the garbage can by a upholsterer. I have always liked the quilt tradition not only because of the beautiful pieces but also how they were originally made; by cooperation and teamwork.European women may have brought quilting to America but many other ethnic groups have added their own traditions to quilt making. Normally it is consider that quilting has become a truly multicultural endeavor.
In a quilt work you see different and distinct pieces come to one. In the end when the work is finished they can not escape from each other; they are there and together forever. Behind a quilt work is an endeavor to creaty a coherent work which also has a harmony; otherwise it is not beautiful.
This quilt vision is very much in line wiht how I see and understand inclusion.
